About

Motherhood changed everything for me.

I’m Kathryn, a mother of three, birth and postpartum doula and birth educator. But long before Mamma Nurture existed, it was becoming a mother myself that completely changed the direction of my life.

Motherhood opened me up in ways I never expected. Through my own experiences of pregnancy, birth and postpartum, I began to understand just how transformational this season of a woman’s life can be and how much it matters to feel genuinely supported through it.

After the birth of my second baby, I had a

moment that ultimately led me here. During a morning meditation, I had this incredibly clear image of being a beacon of light on the horizon for mothers a steady presence women could look towards as they moved through pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

I didn’t even know what a doula was at the time.

But when I discovered the word shortly afterwards, something clicked.

I began with postpartum doula training, followed by birth doula training, and within six months Mamma Nurture had come to life.

Today, I’ve attended more than 50 births and supported more than 80 women through birth and postpartum, but the heart of what I do has never changed.

I want the women I support to feel held, heard, informed and deeply cared for as they move through one of the biggest transitions of their lives.

Whether I’m beside you in labour, helping your partner know how to support you, bringing you a warm meal after birth, wrapping you in a rebozo or simply holding your baby while you sleep, my aim is to bring a calm, steady presence and care for you, the mother.
